I will be entering my last year of university come September 2010 and will finish with a BCOM- specialist in accounting...i was wondering whether there are things like specific job, activity or volunteer work which we students can do to increase our chances of landing an interview with BIG 4 for full time positions. I did read the article posted on this website..but im looking for further advice...it will be my last chance come September to impress the recruiters...

Thank you and have a great valentines day...
The previous advice is good, but I think the best thing I can suggest for you is to shut off the mindset that there's a "specific" (or as I think of it, "magic") activity you should be participating in.
Any group/organization/team where you can work towards a leadership role is a good choice. Use your judgment to decide on what would be a "great" choice - your use of the term "specialist" suggests to me you're a U of T student which means you have a wide range of activities to choose from.
Areas to avoid would be those that don't interest you (if you don't care about the activity, why bother?) and those that don't give you much of an opportunity for advancement to a leadership spot (i.e. groups closed to outsiders that are very cliquey).
